Eight airlines collapse into administration leaving holidays cancelled for thousands | Travel News | Travel
Thousands of holidaymakers have been left scrambling to rearrange travel plans after eight airlines collapsed into administration, triggering widespread cancellations across multiple routes.
The series of collapses comes as airlines face mounting financial strain from rising fuel costs, operational challenges and ongoing economic uncertainty. Industry experts have warned the situation could worsen, particularly amid concerns over jet fuel supply.
The International Energy Agency has cautioned that Europe could face jet fuel shortages within weeks, adding further pressure on airlines already struggling to manage costs.
Despite the turmoil, larger airlines are continuing to operate as normal, though some have reduced flight schedules or increased fares to cope with rising expenses.
Travellers affected by cancellations are being advised to contact airlines or travel providers for refunds or rebooking options, as uncertainty continues to hang over parts of the aviation sector.
