Tennis LIVE: Carlos Alcaraz defies illness as Coco Gauff accused of losing on purpose | Tennis | Sport
Andrey Rublev lost his second group-stage match of the week at the ATP Finals.
The world No. 9 suffered a 6-3 7-6(8) defeat to Carlos Alcaraz on Tuesday and now has a 0-2 record.
If Alexander Zverev wins his second match in straight sets on Wednesday evening, it will keep Rublev alive with a chance of reaching the semi-final.
But the Russian won’t be keeping track of the results after his defeat.
“I would follow if I would win today,” he said after losing to Alcaraz.
“I mean, obviously I will watch the match because it’s best players. It’s interesting to watch in general these kind of matches.
“Even yesterday I watched Sinner and Fritz. They’re in different group. It’s just interesting to watch the best players now at this event.
“I mean, we’ll see. Now like in terms of results, I don’t think I will follow. In terms of just to see the match, yes.”
