Samsung Galaxy phones dished out for £100 in deal even Argos can’t match
Fancy a new phone in your pocket without paying flagship prices? Amazon may have exactly what you are looking for. The online retailer was already offering Samsung’s Galaxy A16 for a ridiculously low £105, but now it’s even cheaper. In fact, it can be popped in online shopping baskets for just £100. That price can’t even be matched by other retailers with Argos and Currys currently offering this phone for £109.99.
The Amazon discount means fans get over £35 off its original price, and it appears to be proving popular with the store confirming that it’s “selling fast”.
The only thing to note is that the discount is only available on the Blue Black model. The Light Green and Light Grey versions will sadly cost you a little extra.
So what’s included on this device, and should you buy it?
The Galaxy A16 is actually pretty feature-packed considering its low price. This device includes a huge 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen that Samsung promises offers vibrant colours and sharp details.
Spin it around, and a triple-lens camera is tucked into the rear case with these lenses offering a 50MP Main Camera, a 5MP Ultra Wide Camera and a 2MP Macro Camera for ultimate close-ups.
To make sure it keeps pace with those digital needs, there’s an octa-core processor, 128GB of expandable storage via an SD card, and IP54 protection to keep it safe should the heavens open. Other extras include a 5000mAh battery, fingerprint scanner and toughened glass to help it survive life in pockets.
The only things it’s really missing are speedy 5G connectivity (the device is only 4G ready), wireless charging and camera features such as a zoom.
Of course, those wanting the ultimate phone will still be better off buying the flagship Galaxy S26, or super premium Galaxy S26 Ultra, but those phones cost over £800 to buy.
One final thing worth remembering before taking the plunge is that Samsung will announce the launch of new foldable devices within weeks.
That could mean we see refreshed Z Flip and Z Fold phones very soon.
