Ring Doorbells continue to boom in popularity. Walk down any UK street, and you’ll see plenty of these devices attached to the front of UK homes. Now there’s a new addition to the range that could make these devices even more in demand. Amazon has just announced the launch of an upgraded gadget called the Peephole Camera 2K. As the name suggests, this device simply replaces the old-fashioned circular peephole lens found in most doors and transforms it into something far more high-tech.

Amazon says this camera has been designed for apartment dwellers and is also renter-friendly, as it can be installed and removed through the existing peephole in front doors.

Once attached, this camera offers pin-sharp 2K video recording along with full head-to-toe visibility so owners can see exactly what’s going on outside their door.

Just like all Ring cameras, the latest Ring Peephole Camera 2K offers two-way talk for chatting to visitors or telling couriers where to place parcels.

It also sends alerts to phones if it spots anything suspicious, and it’s fully powered by batteries, making it super simple to install.

It’s priced at £79.99. It’s worth noting that to get all the recording features a Ring subscription is required which starts from £4.99 per month.

Along with that new doorbell, Amazon has also just launched an updated Ring Outdoor Camera 2K as well.

This security device can be placed anywhere around the outside of the home and offers 24-hour video recording.

It now comes in both wired and battery options and features useful extras such as 2K video resolution, Night Vision and up to 6x Enhanced Zoom to help get up close to any action.

There’s also improved recording when the sun goes down, and it can survive the British weather thanks to a design built for harsh environments.

It comes in black and white and is on sale for £99.99.

The Ring Outdoor Camera 2K will be available from August 12, the Peephole Camera 2K can be picked up from August 19.
