Octopus Energy is offering its customers the chance to win a range of prizes each week with a new scratchcard. The energy company launched Octoplus partner rewards in early 2024 and allows members to win a free coffee every week from Greggs, alongside weekly cinema-ticket offers and other perks on a first come first served basis.
Until now, more than 60,000 early birds were setting alarms to snap up hundreds of thousands of rewards as soon as they dropped – meaning anyone who slept in missed out. The company says that it hopes to eradicate the Monday morning scramble for the most popular rewards. Rebecca Dibb-Simkin, Chief Marketing Officer, said: “We constantly innovate to make energy better for people, and Octoplus is one such example.

“We built it to reward customers for getting involved, and our new Monday scratchcard is the latest way we’re sprinkling a little joy into the week.
“Our customers told us how much they love the free coffee, so it’s staying – alongside even more chances to win brilliant rewards. Free coffees, holidays, gig tickets…
“Mondays are looking much better already.”
Octoplus customers will need to open the Octoplus tab every Monday and scratch before the clock strikes midnight for a chance to win, with prizes ranging from free coffees to memberships.
The company says that a host of exciting new brands are joining the new and improved roster, including MUBI, Krispy Kreme, Forest Bikes, Lidl, and UberEats.
If customers don’t win instantly via the scratchcard, they can enter a second-chance prize draw for even bigger rewards, including a luxury trip to Dubrovnik for two.
Alongside the new weekly game, members can enjoy exclusive competitions, offers, and a mix of exciting new rewards and much-loved experiences available through the app, including: VIP Bruno Mars tickets, Camp Bestival hospitality packages, cinema ticket deals, National Trust day passes and free movie streaming on Rakuten TV.

Despite the company’s attempts to ensure that rewards are more fairly distributed amongst customers, some have taken to social media to express their frustration at the changes.
One disappointed person said: “Very disappointed to hear we will no longer get our coffees, it stopped me from looking at other energy suppliers, but as my fixed deal is coming to an end next month, there is no reason not to change supplier now.”
Another said: “Think it’s time to get off the Octopus train, last decent thing was the free coffee.”
However, one customer hit back at criticism of the move. One Reddit user wrote: “Seems preferable to always finding there are none available.”
In response to some of the complaints, Octopus Energy wrote on social media: “We wanted to make things fairer so every Octoplus member gets an equal chance to win throughout the day, without the morning rush.”
Octopus Energy generally ranks high in terms of customer satisfaction. In an analysis from consumer group Which?, Octopus Energy was named the second-best provider in the UK for 2026.
