Anyone looking for a brand-new Android phone without paying flagship prices might want to check out the latest gadget from the team at Nothing. The UK technology firm has just announced the release of its latest call maker, called the Nothing Phone (4b) which is taking aim at Samsung’s recently released Galaxy A37 and A57 models. This device costs just £299, but don’t let that price tag fool you as it comes packed with some pretty impressive features, including a 6.77-inch Super AMOLED display that gets a 120Hz refresh rate. That means users will get a silky smooth experience when scrolling through websites, checking emails and playing games.

The (4b) also gets a speedy Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor under its shell, a massive 5200 mAh battery for all-day usage, and there’s even a vapour chamber to help keep things cool under pressure.

A dual camera on the rear case should snap decent photos and video, thanks to a main 50MP sensor, which is joined by an ultrawide option as well. Nothing says these dual snappers will deliver exceptional detail and natural colour reproduction. They can also shoot video in pin-sharp 4K with AI anti-shake technology, stopping that annoying camera wobble.

One other bonus of the (4b) is its neat Glphy bar, which is something Samsung won’t match. This unique upgrade sits on the rear case and features 45 individually controlled mini-LEDs with a brightness of up to 3,500 nits. The idea is that it provides notifications, charging progress, recording indicators, and personalised alerts without ever needing to look at screen.

Just like all Nothing phones, it’s powered by the firm’s highly rated Nothing OS operating system, with the firm promising 3 years of Android updates and 6 years of security patches.
