UPDATE 2: Fortnite developer Epic Games has posted an update about server downtime for Chapter 4, Season 1. In a post on Twitter, Epic confirmed that downtime has started and that patch sizes will be larger than usual. “Downtime for v23.00 #FortniteChapter4 has begun. Please note that patch sizes will be larger than usual on some platforms.” The game should be back online shortly, although an issue with the Android update may delay things further. “We’re currently investigating an issue that is preventing V23.00 from being installed on Android devices. We’ll provide an update when we have more information.”
UPDATE: Fortnite is officially down for server maintenance ahead of the launch of Chapter 4, Season 1. The end of season event gave fans a look at the new map, as well as crossover skins such as Geralt from The Witcher, Doom Slayer and Incredible Hulk. You can read all about Chapter 4, Season 1 here.
ORIGINAL: Fortnite fans are getting ready for the release of Chapter 4, Season 1 on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, Android and PC. The new chapter of Fortnite Battle Royale will introduce a new map, Battle Pass and gameplay features. Unfortunately, however, the new season will follow a period of server downtime, which is expected to last for a maximum of 12 hours.
