The latest Borderlands 4 update is available to download on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Borderlands 4 update 1.8 launches alongside the latest batch of free and paid DLC for the popular looter shooter. Owners of the season pass (which is somewhat confusing) can check out the Zane to Kill For paid content, while all players can check out the new Takedown at Hadron Abyss mission – provided you’ve completed the main campaign.
While we’ve gone through all of the new content available in the Zane to Kill For and Takedown at Hadron Abyss packs, what was less clear is what exactly would be changed as part of the release of update 1.8. As you can see from the patch notes below, the headline new feature is cross-platform saves, which means you can play on one platform and resume on another.
Gearbox explains more: “Cross-Platform Saves are now live! This feature lets you upload your saves from one platform via SHiFT to continue playing on another platform where you own Borderlands 4.
“Please note that SHiFT code rewards like Golden Keys will not transfer platforms as part of Cross-Platform Saves, but will still be available on the platform you redeemed them for.”
Elsewhere, Gearbox has reduced the health of Subjugator and Thol the Invincible by 7%. Likewise, Shields from Sentinels will no longer block you from Thol’s melee attacks.
One of the low-key quality of life upgrades is the addition of a new grapple point in the Heart of the Mountain, which should make it easier to navigate the map.
You can check out the full list of patch notes below.
