Argos starts selling exclusive new Sky rival that lets you watch TV for free
Fancy a Sky-style TV without paying a premium monthly subscription? Argos has just announced that it is now stocking new, exclusive, televisions that offer many of the features found on Sky Glass screens, but without any fees. The latest TVs to join the range at Argos come from the team at Sharp, and all feature the Freely platform pre-installed. For those not yet up to speed, Freely is the latest service from the team behind Freeview.
However, instead of using an old-fashioned aerial to receive content, Freely uses a broadband connection instead. That makes it far easier to install in any room throughout the home.
Freely also comes packed with features, including being able to pause live TV and see what’s on now and next via the main and mini guides.
There are even recommendations for shows and movies, making it easier to find new content.
There are already plenty of TVs that come with Freely, but this boost from Argos now means there’s even more choice.
Models include 32, 43, 50 and 55-inch screens with prices starting from just £159.99.
These Sharp TVs also get another bonus as they are powered by the Roku operating system which means there’s easy access to premium content from Netflix, Disney+ and Apple TV along with free things to view from services such as the Roku channel.
We’ve got full details about Freely, including what you need to watch it, features and how many channels are included.
As we mentioned earlier, Freely is free to watch, but it can’t match Sky when it comes to the volume of content on offer.
Sky Glass can be fully loaded to include over 100 channels. Premium upgrades are also available which add Sky Sports and Sky Cinema allowing users to tune into the Premier League, golf, F1 and many of the latest blockbusters.]
Sky Glass with a basic package starts from £29 – SEE THE OFFER HERE.
