During a trip to the city of Bath, a group of American friends decided to sample a full English breakfast for the very first time, having been urged to do so by numerous Brits, and they wasted no time in sharing their candid verdict.

American tourist Amber Kacherian was exploring the UK alongside her two companions, Blake and Jared, when the trio ventured to discover all that Bath had to offer. While there, they took the plunge and ordered a full English breakfast for the first time, swiftly delivering a three-word verdict after finding it nothing like they had anticipated.

Taking to Instagram, Amber documented the taste test for her 424,000 followers, as the group set about reviewing the various components of a classic fry-up.

“So today, we are here in the lovely Bath, England, and we are going to try a proper English breakfast,” Amber announced at the beginning of the video, seen seated inside what appeared to be a local café or restaurant.

The footage then switched to show a man named Blake clutching a fork and gazing down uncertainly at his full English breakfast plate, seemingly unsure where to begin.

“Alright, Blake is going to try the black pudding,” Amber revealed from behind the camera, before capturing Blake taking his very first bite of the divisive delicacy.

Blake was almost immediately seen wincing after chewing a single mouthful of the black pudding, emitting a noise of clear disapproval before removing it from his mouth and exclaiming: “What the h*ll?

“We will not be having any of that,” Blake then went on to say, as he placed the remaining black pudding on a napkin, pushing it away from his plate.

The camera then panned back to Amber, who disclosed that she had begun her breakfast with ‘a classic pancake’ drizzled in syrup. After taking a mouthful, she went on to commend the taste of the syrup, insisting it’s ‘more sweet’ than what she’s accustomed to back in the USA.

“But what I think is really interesting is all the things they have to put on the pancakes,” Amber said, as she proceeded to showcase an array of honey, peanut butter, jam, and Marmite. Nevertheless, viewers in the comment section were swift to highlight that many of these accompaniments were more commonly meant for toast rather than pancakes.

Convinced it couldn’t possibly be ‘worse’ than the black pudding, Blake opted to sample the Marmite, proceeding to slather a thick layer of it onto part of his toast. Yet, as he went on to taste it, he promptly pulled another face before declaring it tasted like ‘sadness’.

“Certainly not as bad as that,” he remarked while gesturing down to the discarded black pudding. He then handed the slice to their other mate Jared to sample, who immediately said: “This smells like burnt yeast.”

He also took a bite, and swiftly pulled a face as well while chewing on the Marmite-covered piece of toast. He said: “Oh that’s strong.”

Next up, Amber went on to say: “And of course, it’s not a proper English breakfast without some beans on toast.” She lifted her slice of white bread topped with beans before sampling it. This proved to be a clear winner, as she expressed genuine appreciation for the pairing of beans and bread.

The duo then became puzzled by the bacon, initially mistaking it for ham. However, despite differing from the bacon they were accustomed to, it proved hugely popular. As for the yoghurt, Amber was astonished to discover it differed from American yoghurt, comparing the British version to sour cream, though she still found it enjoyable.
