Google sells several models of its Pixel smartphones, with the latest release being the £499 Pixel 10a – a cheaper version that still delivers great cameras, strong software with seven years of support and an attractive design.

That’s usually a no-brainer over the £799 Pixel 10, but right now Amazon has discounted this superior smartphone to £549, a superb £250 saving. You only have until June 9 to take advantage, as that’s when the deal ends.

At just £50 more than the budget 10a, it makes the regular Pixel 10 very tempting indeed.

But not only that, for this £549 price, Amazon will also throw in a Google TV Streamer 4K at no extra cost, a device that usually retails for £99.

The TV Streamer is a direct competitor to the Amazon Fire TV Stick and lets you stream all your favourite shows via their apps on your TV.

Overall, this phone and streamer bundle normally costs £898 – at £549 that’s a huge £349 discount.

Compared to the Pixel 10a, the Pixel 10 has a better display with a more scratch resistant finish, a more powerful Tensor G5 chipset that gives better performance and allows for additional AI features, plus extra camera chops thanks to the addition of a telephoto lens.

At £799, these extras aren’t worth splashing out for, but I think they’re worth an extra £50 – even without the Google TV Streamer thrown in for free!

The build quality is a little nicer too, plus I like the look of the Pixel 10’s Lemongrass and Indigo finishes, which are sure to make your new phone stand out from the crowd. There are also more conservative Obsidian and Frost options (black and white) if you prefer.

One of the best things about the Pixel 10 is its software – and that is true in two different ways.

I’ve reviewed many Pixel phones over the years, including the latest Pixel 10 devices, and one of the reasons to go for them over other Android phones is Google’s excellent software design. It’s playful enough to be fun to use but isn’t overblown or clunky, and you can customise it to your liking.

It’s also great because Google promises to keep each of its Pixel phones updated for seven years from their launch. That means the Pixel 10 will continue to get Android platform updates as well as security updates until some time in 2032.

That’s reassuring, and means you’ll get great longevity out of the Pixel 10 at its discounted rate. Just remember the deal ends on June 9.
