Forza Horizon 6 is set to launch on May 19, 2026 – but there is a way to get access to the game early if you pre-order the Premium Edition.

Making the jump from Mexico to Japan, Playground Games is transplanting its tried and tested racing formula into yet another sprawling open world. With over 500 cars to unlock and miles and miles of open roads to race on, it’s set to be one of the most anticipated games on Xbox this year.

If you’re looking to get stuck into Forza Horizon 6 as early as possible, here’s what you need to know about how to get early access and the exact unlock time on all platforms.

Forza Horizon 6 early access release time

Forza Horizon 6 will unlock at 5am BST on May 15 for those who have early access.

To start playing the game at this time, you’ll need to have either pre-ordered the Premium Edition of the game, or purchased the Premium Edition upgrade pass if you plan on playing the game on Xbox Game Pass.

This unlock time applies to both Xbox Series X|S and PC, and is a global release time. That means that game will unlock at the same time for everyone around the world, regardless of their location.

Unfortunately, this also means that the New Zealand trick, which sees games unlock early if you set your console’s time zone to Down Under, won’t work this time.

If you don’t have early access, the game will unlock at 5am BST on May 19, four days later. This applies to those who have Xbox Game Pass and those who’ve pre-ordered any of the other editions of Forza Horizon 6.

Is Forza Horizon 6 coming to PlayStation?

Yes, Forza Horizon 6 is coming to PS5, but not right away at launch.

Playground Games announces that a PS5 port is coming later in the year, but hasn’t put an exact date on it just yet. For now, you’ll need to own either an Xbox or a PC to play Forza Horizon 6.
