Nicolai Fechin | Russia Born American Impressionist Artist
His first art exhibition was held in the United States in the year 1910 in an international exhibition in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In the year 1923, he migrated to New York with his family and worked there for few years and fell ill with tuberculosis and moved to the west to set himself and his family in a drier climate. Later he with his family got settled in Taos, New Mexico, where he became much interested and fascinated by beautiful landscapes and Native Americans. The adobe house in which he lived and lived in Taos is listed on the National Register of Historic places and is currently used as The Taos Art Museum. He later moved and got settled in Southern California after leaving Taos in 1933.
