Huge Samsung TV update confirmed and it will totally eclipse your 4K screen

A new way to watch TV is coming to homes that will make current screens look minute. Samsung has just unveiled its latest pin-sharp screen at the CES technology show in Las Vegas, and it measures in at a whopping 130 inches – that’s more than three metres from corner to corner. This ‘world first’ telly isn’t just super-sized. It also features new Micro RGB technology, which means movies and Netflix boxset binges should appear bright, rich and packed full of colour.

These latest displays individually control red, green and blue micro RGB LEDs in an ultra-fine pattern behind the panel. Unlike conventional backlighting, the new architecture allows for precise control over each LED. That basically means you get a much more precise image even on a screen that’s 130 inches in size.

To further boost performance, this television is powered by Samsung’s Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, Micro RGB Colour Booster Pro and Micro RGB HDR Pro, plus clever AI is included to enhance dull tones and refine contrast.

There’s also Samsung’s Glare-Free technology, which minimises reflections and ensures users get the very best viewing experience, regardless of the room’s lighting.

Other features include a modern design that’s intended to make this giant screen blend in better with its surroundings. Samsung says the look has been created to float within its borders, transforming the TV into an artistic centrepiece that shapes the room.

To make sure things sound impressive, speakers are also integrated into the display’s frame.

“Micro RGB represents the peak of our picture quality innovation, and the new 130-inch model takes that vision even further,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “We’re reviving the spirit of our original design philosophy introduced more than a decade ago to deliver an unmistakably premium display, engineered with technology for a new generation.”

If 130 inches sounds far too big for your terraced house, don’t panic. Samsung has also confirmed that it will be launching more Micro RGB screens including 55”, 65”, 75”, 85”, 100”, along with the 110” version.
