Helldivers 60-day update release date, launch time and early patch notes | Gaming | Entertainment
Helldivers 2 is getting another huge update on PS5 and PC (via Steam). The next big Helldivers 2 update is part of developer Arrowhead’s 60-day plan to fix the game following a previous patch that was met with controversy. In a nutshell, the Escalation of Freedom update was criticised for making certain weapons feel weaker and less satisfying, which in turn reduced the fun factor.
Arrowhead responded by promising to address the issues and reverse the fortunes of the game within 60 days. While it’s been a little more than 60 days (due to the 60th day landing on a weekend), the next big stop on the Helldivers 2 roadmap has been given an official launch date and time.
According to Arrowhead, the new Helldivers 2 update has an October 15 release date on PlayStation and PC.
Based on past updates, the new patch should be available to download at around 10am BST for fans living in the UK.
As you can see from the early patch notes further down the page, Arrowhead has given fans a taste of what to expect from the new update.
According to Chief Creative Director Johan Pilestedt and Design Director Niklas Malmborg, the new update will add Flak to the Autocannon and programmable ammo to the Recoilless Rifle.
That’s on top of automatic fire to The Scorcher, as well as new functionality to the Backpack. Indeed, following the release of the new update, players will be able to recall and redeploy the drone from the Backpack.
According to Arrowhead, The Stalwart will receive “one of the nicest changes”, although it’s unclear what exactly this means.
According to fan speculation, this could be anything from additional ammo, to armour piercing capabilities and more.
