Telly addicts who fancy a more portable way to watch TV might fancy checking out Samsung’s latest binge-watching device. It’s called the Freestyle+, and it will get its grand unveiling at next week’s CES technology show in Las Vegas. Samsung already has a mini Freestyle portable projector, which launched all the way back in 2022, but the all-new plus version appears to be taking things up a notch with Samsung promising improved AI capabilities, brighter visuals and expanded entertainment features.

One of the best new upgrades is a simpler plug-and-play system with owners just powering it up and the Freetsyle+ doing the rest. Thanks to AI OptiScreen technology, this device automatically adjusts the picture to suit different spaces, allowing it to be simply pointed at any wall. This should end the need for digging into settings when wanting to watch a quick episode on Netflix or a movie via Disney+.

AI OptiScreen also includes a set of intelligent features designed to automatically optimise the picture across different surfaces and environments.

There’s even a function called 3D Auto Keystone, which automatically corrects distortion even when projecting onto uneven or non-flat surfaces, such as corners, curtains or angled walls, and Real-time Focus continuously adjusts focus as the projector moves or rotates.

Another nice bonus is Screen Fit. This instantly tweaks the image to match the screen area when used with a compatible projector screen accessory.

Finally, there’s Wall Calibration, which can analyse the colour or pattern of the projection surface and minimise visual distractions for clearer viewing.

All of these smart features should cut down on the hassle when using projectors.

Just like the previous Freestyle, the plus version offers easy portability so it can be moved from room to room, and it gets an in-built speaker.

There’s also Wi-Fi connectivity, and it can access apps such as Disney+, Netflix and Prime Video.

“By combining true portability with intelligent AI that optimises both the viewing environment and the content itself, The Freestyle+ makes it easier to enjoy a consistent, high-quality experience wherever you are.”

There’s no word on a price just yet, but it should arrive in stores in the first part of 2026.
