Jacob Fearnley has played Alexander Zverev and practised with Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open this week.

But the British No.1 cannot pick between the German and the Serbian in Friday’s blockbuster semi-final.

“I think it will be an amazing match,” he said.

The Scot, 23, beat Nick Kyrgios before going down to Zverev in the third round. “Of course I want him to win now!” said Fearnley on Saturday. “You always want the person that beat you to win it.”

On being asked to hit with Djokovic, Fearnley added: “Yeah, it was cool. It came a bit unexpected. It was really fun. One of his other coaches came up to me and asked in the locker room. I was about to leave, and he was like: ‘Would you want to hit with Novak?’

“And obviously I was like: ‘Yeah, sure!’. It was really cool. Obviously he was warming up for a match, so it’s a little bit different. But to hit with him is always great. And Andy was on the court as well, which was cool. It was a good experience for me and my coach.”
