A huge fire has ripped through a building on a busy road in a UK city, with thick plumes of smoke filling the sky. The blaze erupted at a large commercial premises on Hilton Street in Salford, Greater Manchester.

Videos shared on social media show massive flames engulfing the entire building. Residents have been urged to keep their doors and windows shut. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Firefighters are currently tackling a large fire at a commercial building on Hilton Street in Salford. Due to the large amount of smoke in the area, residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed and avoid the area. Bury New Road remains closed while crews work to extinguish the fire.”
