Commonwealth Games LIVE: Adam Peaty updates as BBC lose TV rights | Other | Sport
Following his heat race, Adam Ramsay-Peaty spoke to TNT Sports, here’s what he had to say:
On the delay: “It’s a bit of extra time to enjoy the crowd, I guess, obviously, I’m a sprinter so every second counts, but, you know what, stuff happens in sport, stuff happens in life, you’ve got to get on with it.”
On the race: “I mean, job done really, we’ve have a very busy two weeks coming up, so it’s about conserving energy where we can. The heats here, I knew would probably be around that, so we’re in a good position.”
On being back in Glasgow: “It’s definitely a full, full circle, 12 years is a long time being an athlete, and hopefully we can get the result we want tomorrow and over the next week or so, but I’ve grown so much as a person, as an athlete, last time I was here I was very young with no World Records to my name. It’s been a very long journey.”
