Coming in first place is a gorgeous European city that is famous for its beautiful architecture and rich history. The fairytale architecture is what earned it the nickname ‘the City of a Hundred Spires’.

Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic has been named as the most affordable place for a holiday this summer.

It has a whopping 619 budget-friendly attractions, including the Prague Castle grounds and the 17th-century Waldstein Garden.

A meal costs around £8.58, while a local draught beer costs approximately £2.32.

Three-star hotels average £86.96 per night, with Prague’s historic streets and atmospheric neighbourhoods all within easy reach.

Visitors to Prague can wander the Old Town, exploring its cafes and restaurants while taking in the beautiful sights.

Places like Charles Bridge and Prague Castle are completely free of charge and the city is walkable, which makes it even more affordable.

If your feet get tired, you can hop on the cheap public transport to explore. Tourists can buy passes for the Metro, tram and bus services.

A 30-minute ticket costs around £1.20, a 90-minute ticket is around £1.55, a 24-hour ticket is around £4.75, while a 72-hour pass will set you back around £11.50.

The most iconic building in the city is St. Vitus Cathedral, located within the expansive complex of Prague Castle. Meanwhile, the Charles Bridge and the Church of Our Lady before Týn are also popular sites among visitors.
