Argos dishes out cheaper Ray-Ban glasses, no wonder they are selling fast
Fancy some smart new glasses without paying the full price? Now is a very good time to go online shopping, as UK stores are cutting the cost of Ray-Ban Meta wearables. These clever shades not only protect eyes from the sun but also include speakers that will read out messages, play music and let you make phone calls. Another bonus is built-in cameras, which can record Ultra HD videos or snap photos without needing to grab a smartphone.
Finally, there’s the option to get real-time info and suggestions via clever Meta AI. Simply ask the AI glasses about landmarks that you pass by, find recipes to cook or there’s even the ability to remind you where you parked.
Ray-Ban Meta are some of the world’s most popular smart glasses, but they are not exactly cheap, with some models costing well over £350.
Luckily, there are now some deals that are bringing the cost down. Retailers including Argos, EE and Meta’s own store are currently selling the Ray-Ban models with up to 25 percent off.
That means a pair can currently be bagged for under £230.
Models on offer include the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 1, Ray-Ban Meta Skyler Gen 1, Ray-Ban Meta Headliner Gen 2 and Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 2.
As a quick guide, the main differences between all Gen 1 and Gen 2 models are weight, battery life and size of the camera lenses, with all these features being improved on the latest Gen 2 models.
There are plenty to choose from, and we’ve got a selection of the deals below.
Want to know more about these glasses? Read the full Meta Ray-Ban review. In summary, the Gen 1 model we tested had great looks, excellent video quality, AI smarts and a nice range of styles.
We were, however, critical of their bulk, photo quality and battery life.
