Trump health fears as ‘swollen hand’ and ‘bruising’ on show during King Charles arrival | World | News
Charles and Camilla were greeted on the South Lawn by Trump and his wife Melania, with both couples exchanging handshakes and embraces. They then paused for photographs before going inside the US president’s residence. However, viewers were quick to notice that the president’s hand was “swollen and discolored”, sending health fears around the 79-year-old leader to soar once again.
As the King and Trump spoke, video footage focused in on the president’s right hand, which appeared to be larger than his left. There appeared to be makeup on his hand covering the discolouring.
“Trump’s right hand has been in bad shape for a long time now, but this picture taken today shows discoloration on the back of his left hand,” journalist Aaron Rupar posted on X, alongside close up pictures.
Some users on X speculated that his hand may have been injured when he was hurried out of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday after a gunman opened fire.
“He might got hurt when fallen during that night of gathering (ballroom?)”, wrote an X user. A second added: “It looks worse with the make up. He should just let it go.”
The president’s right hand is frequently seen bruised, which the White House usually attributes to his high-dose aspirin regimen and frequent handshakes.
“President Trump has bruises on his hand because he’s constantly working and shaking hands all day, every day,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said last year.
Last year Trump insisted he was in perfect mental and physical health, stating that he had undergone a “perfect physical exam” along with a comprehensive cognitive assessment.
He wrote on Truth Social at the time: “There will be a day when I run low on Energy, it happens to everyone, but with a PERFECT PHYSICAL EXAM AND A COMPREHENSIVE COGNITIVE TEST (‘That was aced’) JUST RECENTLY TAKEN, it certainly is not now! GOD BLESS AMERICA & MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
