In the video, picking up the products, she said: “So I just got this in the mail from my friend Meghan… she sent me a beautiful box of chocolates from her brand As Ever, you guys should check it out.” Showing that the box had already been half eaten, laughing Serena said: “I’ve botched it. She’s like so classy and I’m like, look at this. This is nuts. Anyway, the chocolate was beautiful and it was delicious. I don’t like chocolate but I’ve been killing them.”

With her mouth then full of chocolate, she showed the two candles inspired by Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Holding the one inspired by Archie, she said: “candles, ginger and cashmere, I couldn’t pronounce the other word”.

Whilst holding the one inspired by Lilibet, she said: “amber, water lily [and] another one I can’t pronounce.”

She then concluded the video by saying: “Looks good. I love the candles, thank you, I love you.”

Taking to X, fans weren’t impressed by Serena’s video. One fan added: “Ummm, Serena Williams just trolled the crap out of As Ever! That is NOT the way you unbox a friends gift! [cry-laughing emoji].”

Another added: “This is the shadiest plug I’ve ever seen in my life-tell me Serena Williams is over #meghanmarkle without telling me… [cry-laughing emoji].”

Clearly amused by Serena’s video, another added: “It’s a terrible plug! The chocolates are all over and she’s chewing throughout. It’s screaming that she couldn’t be bothered and I love it. [cry-laughing emoji]”.
