A huge moorland blaze has broken out near Greater Manchester, with massive flames and smoke seen for several miles. The fire has erupted at Scout Moor, between Ramsbottom and Whitworth.

Footage shared on social media show roaring flames and thick plumes of smoke filling the sky. Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service have rushed to tackle the blaze, along with crews from Greater Manchester. Residents as far away as Bury and Rochdale have reported seeing the fire, according to the Manchester Evening News. The cause of the blaze is unknown. The Daily Express has contacted Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service for comment.
