James Bond replacement narrowed down to just ‘three contenders’ | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV
Bond fans are eagerly waiting to find out who will be the next 007. It’s not an easy task to replace Daniel Craig, so which actors are in the running to become the next iconic spy? According to Variety, James Bond bosses have reportedly narrowed down their search to “three names”. Aaron Taylor-Johnson has long been among the leading contenders for the role, but surprisingly, he doesn’t make the top three. The publication reported that the studio and producers are interested in “casting a British actor under the age of 30.” According to an inside source, the three names who are believed to be in the running are “Tom Holland, Harris Dickinson, and Jacob Elordi.”
While Jacob is Australian, this reportedly won’t be a dealbreaker for Bond bosses, as former Aussie actor George Lazenby starred in the Bond flick, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
This follows the news that Denis Villeneuve was confirmed as the director of the next James Bond film. The celebrated filmmaker is known for his visionary works on Dune, Blade Runner 2049, Sicario, and Prisoners.
Express Online has contacted representatives of Tom Holland, Jacob Elordi, Harris Dickinson, and Amazon for comment.
28 Years Later actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has often been at the top of conversations surrounding the next James Bond, but there is still no confirmation of who will replace Craig.
Aaron recently teased fans about a new project during a film premiere. The 35-year-old insisted that he “can’t talk” about his next film project when he was quizzed on the red carpet of a new zombie flick.
When he was interviewed by Deadline at the movie premiere of 28 Years Later, he said, “I can’t talk about it.” The actor, from Somerset, was already being led away down the red carpet when the question was asked. Earlier this year, fans were convinced that Aaron was the next 007 after he shared a snap of himself on Instagram wearing Bond’s signature OMEGA wristwatch.
The post’s caption read, “OMEGA welcomes Aaron Taylor-Johnson to our watchmaking home in Bienne. The actor and Golden Globe winner stepped into our watchmaking home for an exclusive tour, meeting the watchmakers behind our timepieces.”
One person who left a comment said, “Bro has to be the new James Bond at this point”, whilst a second also echoed, “Do I hear the 007 theme?”
Almost four years have passed since Daniel Craig‘s final outing as James Bond, and earlier this year, Amazon announced a surprise deal to acquire the film franchise.
