The pretty seaside town just 40km from famous Spanish city – with £30 flights | World | News

Less than 40 minutes away from the famous city of Marbella lies a small coastal village brimming with luxury and tranquil beaches.

Puerto de la Duquesa is a quiet Spanish spot boasting an idyllic location between two stunning blue flag beaches. With an attractive marina, world-class golf courses and uncrowded beaches for visitors to enjoy, it is the perfect destination for a relaxing break.

The seafront is lined with a plethora of cafes and bars with some exquisite restaurants offering local and international cuisines.

La Duquesa is a largely modern ‘suburb’ of Manilva municipality centred on the tranquil marina with a developing community of expats from across Europe.

Its central location is between the more popular cities of Gibraltar and Malaga means travellers from different parts of Spain can conveniently pop over to the town.

The village is a luxurious haven for sports lovers with a marina for boating enthusiasts and a number of top golf courses dotted towards the back of the town, hosting a picturesque mountain backdrop to watch the sunset behind.

To reach La Duquesa from the UK, Brits can fly to Malaga Airport for as little as £30 return. Prices stay this low throughout the winter months as the tourist season tails off due to the slightly cooler weather.

However, with temperatures hovering at around 18C in December, it is still a welcomed break for holidaymakers to travel to for a milder break from Britain’s colder weather.

Flight time takes a little under three hours, where travellers can rent a car or take public transport to the village in less than an hour.

La Duquesa is situated just a stone’s throw away from the popular city of Marbella, where those holidaying there can pop over for a quieter day trip.

The drive between the two takes just 30 minutes for those with a car – the same as a taxi, although prices will be considerably higher.

The cheapest and most efficient way to travel to the village from Marbella is by bus, taking just 44 minutes, visitors can pay just £3 to hop aboard.
