I love this Windows 11 laptop that’s much cheaper for Black Friday
The Black Friday sales have begun and will continue to run at least until the big day itself on November 28. That means there are scores of tech deals across the UK on some of the most popular gadgets out there, making this month the perfect time to grab a bargain or get some Christmas shopping in nice and early.
One laptop deal that has caught my eye is the Asus Zenbook 14 OLED running Windows 11, which is reduced to £519.19 on Amazon, a huge discount from its £899.99 RRP. That’s a massive 42 percent discount and is one of the best deals I’ve seen in Amazon’s Black Friday sale.
Upgrading your laptop can be a tricky decision given the sheer number of models out there, as well as the substantial financial commitment. This is especially true in the world of Windows, where there are many manufacturers selling laptops with varying specs at many different budgets.
I know this is a great laptop because I reviewed it in April of last year. The version I tried had a slightly more powerful processor compared to the Intel Core Ultra 5 chip in the one on sale at Amazon, but otherwise this laptop is identical.
The Intel Core Ultra 5 processor should keep things ticking over nicely, even for many PC games, though this is more a laptop for the price conscious buyer who wants a lightweight Windows 11 computer with solid specs and great battery life.
The Zenbook 14 OLED, as the name suggests, has a stunning 14-inch OLED display. Most laptop screens use LCD screens, so this 3K OLED is much better than what you might be used to. OLEDs have much better colour reproduction and contrast – it’s a superb upgrade, and this screen is a touchscreen to boot, which you’ll wonder how you ever went without.
For £519.19 you also get 512GB storage, which should see all but the most prodigious collector of digital media files through for several years.
Weighing in at just 1.2kg, I found the Zenbook to be an easy laptop to lug around in a bag and it lasts about a whole work day away from the mains, but no more – about eight hors was what I could eke out of the Asus’s battery even though the firm claims it can run for up to 18.
That’s not the case in my experience. If you want a laptop with the best battery life, that’s still the MacBook Air – the M2 version is on sale at Argos for £699.99.
The Zenbook does at least have fast charging, able to charge up to 60 percent in 49 minutes with the included power adapter. It also has two USB-C, one USB-A and one HDMI port, more than you get on other premium laptops.
It’s not clear how long this deal will last, but right now it’s one of the best laptop offers I’ve seen so far in 2025’s online Black Friday sales.
