Meghan Markle dubbed the ‘Duchess of Duds’ after latest controversial move | Royal | News
Meghan Markle was named the “Duchess of Duds” by a royal commentator after her recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar. The Duchess of Sussex gave an intimate interview to the US magazine for its December 2025/January 2026 issue.
In it, she addressed various topics, including making mistakes, her relationship with her husband, Prince Harry and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. She also raised eyebrows after the article’s writer, Kaitlyn Greenidge, revealed that Meghan was announced to her with her royal title by a member of staff when they met up for the interview at one of her pal’s homes.
But now a royal commentator has criticised the Duchess’s interview
The New York Post’s Kirsten Fleming gave a scathing verdict and said there is “nothing new because she has nothing exciting going on”.
She said: “In actuality, this ‘moment’ Harper’s Bazaar writes about is one in which Markle is becoming a Hollywood has-been with overhyped and underwhelming projects.
“I declare thee the duchess of duds.”
In the interview, Meghan said she gives herself grace when she makes mistakes in business, though she did not elaborate on what errors she has made.
Meghan said: “I’m a mom with kids at that age where they are constantly learning something new.
“I watch them face things that feel completely insurmountable every day. But you can remember and say, ‘I know it seems really hard right now, but trust me, that’s going to come so easily soon.’
“I can give myself the same grace as a founder. There’s no such thing as perfect. I, too, get to make mistakes.”
