How to board plane correctly as man says he’s figured out what ‘airlines can’t’ | Travel News | Travel
A man has explained what he thinks is correct order a plane should be boarded in β and many people believe his way is right.
Michael Herman, a theatre director and producer, is often seen ranting about aspects of life that he feels passionate about as an autistic man β whether it’s the US election or trends with different generations. But in a recent clip, shared online by his wife Rachael Yoder, he was seen getting frustrated over the chaotic way people board planes.
Lower gate numbers tend to board first while higher numbers board last. Passengers with additional needs, such as disabilities, the elderly or parents with infants may also get priority, regardless of your gate number.
First, business, and priority classes always board before coach or economy. But Michael believes the process would be lass chaotic if people boarded in order of their passes, from back to front.
In the video, which has gained more than 324,000 likes, he explained: “This is how planes should be boarded. There is only one way and for some reason, no airline has figured this out yet.
“Let’s say there are 40 rows on the plane. One through 40. Row 40 goes first. That’s it. That’s the whole thing. You can figure the rest out. Ridiculous.
“How long have planes existed? And we cannot figure out how to get people on a plane. Ridiculous. Put autistic people in charge of this s**t. It shall be done. People would be on the plane in 30 seconds if I was in charge.”
Michael was quickly praised on TikTok as many people agreed with his view. One user commented: “I agree 10000%,” while another added: “Been saying this for 20 years.”
A third commented: “My husband literally just had this exact same rant two days ago when we were boarding our flight.” Someone else penned: “In other countries, they use the front and back doors to load the plane. Takes half the time.”
